Contributing to the Creation of New Industries
and to a Prosperous, Fulfilling Society
Dr. Yasuhiko Ito—Professor Emeritus of Kyoto University, who passed away on October 17, 2023—devoted more than half a century of research, together with many colleagues, to deepening the scientific understanding of the fascinating physical properties and characteristics of molten salts and the diverse functionalities they enable. His work uncovered a wide range of potential applications.
In particular, research centered on the Molten Salt Electrochemical Process (MSEP) has earned high recognition both in Japan and abroad in fields such as environment, energy, resources, and nanotechnology.
I’MSEP Co., Ltd. was founded in pursuit of Dr. Ito’s strong aspiration to advance the technology seeds born from these research achievements to practical application and commercialization, and to contribute to society through the creation of new industries.
The name “I’MSEP” embodies not only the “I” of “Innovation,” but also the pride and determination of each employee—“I am a pioneer of MSEP.”
Since our founding, we have achieved many significant results, and we feel each day that recognition and trust in our company continue to grow both domestically and internationally. This is entirely thanks to the understanding, support, and guidance of many stakeholders—including industry, national and local governments, and various public institutions—for which we express our deepest gratitude.
Going forward, we will continue to advance our business in MSEP technology and molten salt technologies more broadly, drawing on the advanced technical capabilities and the wealth of knowledge and expertise we have cultivated.
It is the shared aspiration of all of us at I’MSEP—and the founding spirit we have inherited—that the technology seeds born and nurtured at the university will bloom and bear fruit through practical application and commercialization, contributing to the creation of new industries and to the realization of a prosperous, fulfilling society.
We sincerely ask for your continued support and guidance.
